Myths About Site BuildIt and Site Sell

Ignorance Is Bliss...

Especially When It's A Sales Opportunity Many of our visitors may have misconceptions based on what they thought about SBI! from years ago.

They have no idea what today's Site Build It! does and delivers. Dr. Ken was talking to one of his affiliates just the other day. That affiliate has been a successful online marketer for years and has been aware of SBI!.

In fact, she has been promoting SBI! successfully for a year herself. But when she finally got a chance to actually use it, she was blown away by the process, by all the tools and by the sheer power and sophistication of the tools. Heck, we're auto-pinging Live Search when the SEO gurus have not yet even realized that the protocol for this is out!

You know the myths... oh SBI! is just for beginners or All SBI! sites look the same or SiteSell controls your domain or It's like MLM or GRQ or You can't use Dreamweaver or Frontpage with it or It doesn't allow "server-side" functions like forums, advanced shopping carts, and datafeeds or It's too expensive.

Some of these myths are over 5 years old and no longer true. And some, well, I have no idea where they come from. But the above are just a few common myths.

Lisa, the affiliate that Dr. Ken was taling about, states that Site BuildIts affilites had been hearing complaints in her forum from people thinking that they "had to use SBI!'s dead-simple block-by- block builder." A wonderful training tool, at one time that WAS the only way to build your site.

It is still a terrific training-wheels tool for newbies (or those with bad habits). However, SBI added the ability for folks to use ANY HTML editor with SBI!, literally YEARS ago.

Lisa made the point by switching her own SBI! site's design from the BlockBuilder to Dreamweaver and told her forum visitors all about it. Result... Bang! 10 SBI! sales in one day!

HERE ARE SOME MYTHS......

SBI! Is Just For Beginners.......

The SBI! block-by-block SiteBuilder is, of course, for beginners. It literally does train a "newbie," block-by-block, to build an EFFECTIVE Web page. It makes it easy to build pages that both visitors and Search Engines love without having to know HTML.

Once a newbie is ready for more, SBI! lets them "take the training wheels off" and upload their own HTML. They can use Dreamweaver, Frontpage or any HTML editor they choose. When webmasters realize the advantages of the "all-tools- in-one-place" approach, they see how SBI! can save them time and money. Tools like Brainstorm It!, Content 2.0, Worldsubmitter, ValueExchange, SBI! Site Stats, etc., are equal or better than the outside available tools. And buying all those outside tools would cost hundreds more per year than SBI! does.

All SBI! Sites Look The Same

The "basic" simple-to-use, templates provided by SBI! use styling recommended by site-design experts (Dr. Jakob Neilsen of useit.com) who stress simplicity and a left-hand navbar. These simple designs don't keep someone from achieving top search engine and 1% Alexa rankings and ultimately success.

Once someone is ready (or if they already have the skills) they are free to use Dreamweaver and Photoshop, CSS or any other design method or tools they choose. Whatever your Look and Feel, you CAN do it in SBI!. Just crank up Photoshop and your HTML editor and do it.

Domains are totally under the control of the site owner (check Whois to see). At the end of the subscription they are free to transfer the domain they own to another host at no charge if they choose.

Site content is simple HTML that can easily be captured and moved to another host or brought into an editor. There is no more disadvantage to SBI! hosting than anyone would have moving a site from any other host.

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post some encouraging news. I just redesigned my SBI! site using Dreamweaver (Upload Your Own HTML) and was thrilled at how smooth the transition went. After I launched my new site, I announced the new design to my audience and the SBI! orders came pouring in yesterday.

I've found (from several emails through the years) that people are often skeptical about buying SBI! because they assume they have to stick to the Block by Block builder design. So it's important to let them know the design options are unlimited when you use your own software. That was a reminder to myself to emphasize that more when PREselling in the future.

Even though WE know the content sells, (not the design), it's still important to let people know they can use any Web software just like a regular Web host.
